9. Sharing Content
AN EXPANDED TUTORIAL
Once you’ve started work on the design, you can share it with other team members so that they can work on it with you. For example, what you would do with this design is you’d click this “Share” button, and then you would choose a member of your team.
You would then determine which privileges that individual has. You can give them viewing privileges, or you can give them editing privileges, or you can send it to your entire team to give them the same level of privileges.
In this case, we would just click this document’s “Send Invites” button. When that individual comes to their screen, they’ll see a link that says “Shared With You.” They’ll click inside that link and then be able to click inside that document.
They can then decide to use this document as a template, or they can click “Edit” to bring it into their canvas. They’ll then be able to make changes to the document. Once they’ve made changes, they’ll have some options. They’ll then be able to either publish this to a specific output or leave their changes.
Once you refresh the page, you’ll see the changes have been made. You also notice a note from Canva indicating that another individual is editing the document.
Sharing Content in Canva is a key feature that makes teamwork and collaboration easier and more effective. By sharing designs with team members, you can work together on projects, provide feedback, and ensure everyone is on the same page. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the process of sharing Content in Canva, setting different levels of privileges, and collaborating effectively with your team members.
Step 1: Open Canva and select the design you want to share. Once you have your design open, click on the “Share” button in the screen’s top right corner.
Step 2: In the pop-up window that appears, you will see options to share the design via a link, email, or social media. Choose the option that best suits your needs. We recommend using the “Share a link” option for sharing with team members.
Step 3: After selecting the “Share a link” option, you can choose whether you want your team members to have view-only access, comment access, or edit access. View-only access allows team members to see the design but not make any changes. Comment access lets team members leave comments on the design. Edit access allows team members to make changes to the design.
Step 4: Once you have selected the desired level of access, click on the “Copy link” button to generate a unique link for sharing your design. You can then share this link with your team members via email, messaging apps, or any other preferred communication method.
Step 5: To collaborate effectively with your team members, encourage open communication and feedback. Use Canva’s comment feature to leave feedback on specific elements of the design, ask questions, or suggest changes. This will help ensure everyone is aligned on the project goals and can contribute their ideas effectively.
Step 6: When working on design projects in Canva with team members, it’s important to establish clear timelines, responsibilities, and expectations. Make sure everyone knows their role in the project and the deadlines they need to meet. Regular check-ins and updates can help keep everyone on track and accountable.
By following these steps and best practices, you can effectively share Content in Canva, set different levels of privileges for team members, and collaborate seamlessly on design projects. Remember to communicate openly, provide feedback, and work together as a team to create stunning designs in Canva.
