Course Description and Objectives
The course will focus on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as displayed in the gospels, and the books of Acts and Revelation. In addition, some attention will be given to the art of hermeneutics and how to best interpret the New Testament narratives.
By the end of this course, students will
- Gain an understanding of Christ’s biography during his time on earth.
- Become familiar with exegetical methods for interpreting the gospels.
- Better understand the nature of Jesus, the God/man.
- Grasp an understanding of the mission of Christ and our part in it.
- Develop a deeper relationship with and adoration for the Lord Jesus Christ.

- SECTION ONE: Interpreting New Testament Narrative PassagesWe will do a brief study of the process of hermeneutics, looking first at the basics of how to accurately interpret Scripture. This will be followed by the particulars of studying the New Testament narratives. Finally, we will compare and contrast the four gospels.2
- SECTION TWO: The Life of ChristThis section studies the nature, life, and works of the Son of God before the incarnation, and in the four gospels, Acts and Revelation.23
